All smiles over their official designation as Clarksale’s Musical Ambassadors at Monday’s board meeting of the Mayor and City Commissioners are five members of the Delta Blues Museum Band who performed recently at the White House. Awarded a plaque by First Lady Michelle Obama as one of the country’s most outstanding After School programs, the students earned standing ovations following their performance. Mayor Bill Luckett (left) presented individual certificates to each student: Isaac Thornton, Aren Wilkins, Devonta Thornton, Kalil Ford, and Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram; their teacher Walt Busby, and DMB director Shelley Ritter.
