Five top bands booked for Thanksgiving Eve party

Sunflower River Blues Association hosts event at Ground Zero Blues Club Nov. 25

CLARKSDALE – Five top blues bands will be performing Thanksgiving Eve at the Sunflower River Blues Association’s preview of next summer’s 29th annual blues and gospel festival.

Booked for the event are Bill Abel, Razorblade, Anthony “Big A” Sherrod, Heather Crosse Heavy Suga’ the Sweet Tones with acclaimed drummer Lee Williams, and Terry “Big T” Williams.

All will be performing again August 12-13-14, 2016, on the Melville Tillis Delta Blues Stage adjacent to the Delta Blues Museum.

“We are excited over these talented musicians who will be entertaining from 8 p.m. til after midnight Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Ground Zero Blues Club,” says Melvita Tillis Presley, festival co-chairman. “We very much also appreciate Bill Luckett and the GZBC staff for hosting the event.”

“This is a unique opportunity to entertain friends and family visiting during the holiday,” she continued.

The tentative Nov. 25 lineup kicks off with Bill Abel from 8:15 to 9 p.m.; Razorblade from 9:15 – 10 p.m; Anthony “Big A” Sherrod from 10:15 – 11 p.m.; Heather Crosse from 11:15 – Midnight; and Terry “ Big T” Williams from 12:15 to 1 p.m.
