Musselwhite to perform on ‘The Tonight Show’ Tuesday, Jan. 22

NEW YORK CITY – Blues harmonica virtuoso and Mississippi native Charlie Musselwhite will perform with Ben Harper on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Musselwhite, a frequent visitor to Clarksdale who has headlined Clarksdale’s Sunflower River Blues Festival several times including its 25th anniversary in 2012, and Harper will preview a song from their collaborative debut album, “Get Up.”

Recorded by Stax, the album is due out Jan. 29, and is being publicized via shows here, Toronto, Chicago, Australia, and Rio de Janeiro.

Musselwhite and his career are featured in a special exhibit of photographs and memorabilia at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale.
