Wednesday night event, a fund-raiser for the Sunflower River Blues Festival
CLARKSDALE – Five Delta blues bands will be featured in a rocking Thanksgiving eve party fund-raiser for the Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival at Ground Zero Blues Club, announces co-chairman John Sherman.
Performing from 7 – 11 p.m. will be the Howling Madd Bill Perry Blues Band, Daddy Rich and Band; the Eddie Lee Coleman Band; John (Razor Blade) Stewart Band; and Guitar Mickey Band.
“The Wednesday night party is a great way to relax during the holidays and entertain visiting relatives, and friends,” comments Sherman.
“Admission is $6, and proceeds support the Sunflower – Mississippi’s largest blues festival with 30,000 visitors – to remain free and open to all,” he continued. The 2008 festival is Oct. 8-10.
