Rocking blues party set Thanksgiving eve at Ground Zero
Wednesday night event, a fund-raiser for the Sunflower River Blues Festival

CLARKSDALE – Five Delta blues bands will be featured in a rocking Thanksgiving eve party fund-raiser for the Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival at Ground Zero Blues Club, announces co-chairman John Sherman.

Performing from 7 – 11 p.m. will be the Howling Madd Bill Perry Blues Band, Daddy Rich and Band; the Eddie Lee Coleman Band; John (Razor Blade) Stewart Band; and Guitar Mickey Band.

“The Wednesday night party is a great way to relax during the holidays and entertain visiting relatives, and friends,” comments Sherman.

“Admission is $6, and proceeds support the Sunflower – Mississippi’s largest blues festival with 30,000 visitors – to remain free and open to all,” he continued. The 2008 festival is Oct. 8-10.

Kicking off the lineup will be the Howling Madd Blues Perry Band from 7 – 7:45 p.m.; Daddy Rich and Band: 7:50 – 8:30; Eddie Lee Coleman Band: 8:30 – 9:15; Josh Stewart Band: 9:15 – 10; and Guitar Mickey Band: 10-11.
