Super soul star performs at Sunflower’s Christmas Blues Party

Sunflower party features Southern Soul star Nathaniel Kimble

Southern Soul star Nathaniel Kimble stages a high-energy show including his popular ‘You Make Me Happy’ recording for the Sunflower River Blues Association’s Christmas Blues Party Dec. 23.

The party was staged in Clarksdale’s new downtown event venue at 270 Delta Avenue in a dramatic transformation from Henderson Drug Store into a colorful blues club with ‘juke joint’ decor. The building is owned by LaShondra and Sandy Tillis, son of the late Melville Tillis, longtime Sunflower Festival co-chairman. They coordinated the fund-raiser with other Tillis family members including Melvita Tillis Presley, current co-chair, and other Sunflower members. Other musicians donating their performances to the festival were Josh Razorblade Stewart, Super Chikan Johnson, and Anthony Big A Sherrod.
