CLARKSDALE – Four blues bands are being booked for the Sunflower River Blues Association’s annual Thanksgiving Eve fund-raiser at Ground Zero Blues Club, according to festival co-chairmen John Sherman and Melville Tillis.

“This is a fun evening for families and friends to get together during the holidays,” comments Sherman. “With a nominal cover charge, it’s also an important opportunity to help us keep the Sunflower free.”

Music starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and continues through 11 p.m.

The Sunflower River Blues Association, a non-profit organization composed of volunteers, will be celebrating its 20th festival on Aug. 10, 11, and 12, 2007. The 3-day festival is Clarksdales largest tourism event, and contributions to the 501 c 3 organization are tax deductible.

“We thank local blues bands and Ground Zero owners and staff for supporting this fund-raiser,” said Tillis.
