Drawing ovations from a packed-house Ground Zero Blues Club audience enjoying the music of seven bands at the Sunflower River Blues Association’s annual Thanksgiving Eve Blues party is Anthony (Big A) Sherard, all grown up and professional following years as an talented student of master folk artist Mr. Johnnie Billington.

Marco Stewart’s unique Deuce and a Quarter Band offers a change of pace with classic soul vocalists paired with blues/jazz musicians including Delta Avenue art gallery owners Bradley Gordon on drums and Austin Britt on guitar. Stewart, a Clarksdale native, (seated right on keyboard) once performed in Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Grammy-winning hip-hop band in Seattle.

‘Dr. Feelgood’ Potts blows harmonica with Shine Turner’s Second to None Blues Band at Wednesday’s Thanksgiving Eve Blues party sponsored by the Sunflower River Blues Association. Attending were blues fans from England, Panama, and many regions of the country.

Opening the Sunflower River Blues Association’s holiday party at Ground Zero is the TCB Band followed by six additional groups: Second to None Blues Band, Daddy Rich, Deuce & a Quarter, All Night Long Band, Nathanial Kimble, and Terry ‘Big T’ Williams plus extras including Josh Stewart.
